June 13 was the graduation day of 28 UBTS students from Pastoral Department, Christian Education Program, Women’s Ministry Department and Preacher Program.
The official part of the graduation ceremony was held in Lviv Bethany Church.
Oleg Borys (UBTS faculty member) was the host of the eventand teachers from Music Ministry Department led the worship time at the celebration. A lot of friends, relatives came to the overcrowded church to congratulate the graduates oncompleting their education journey at the seminary.
President of UBTS (Yaroslav Pyzh, Ph.D.) was the first to say the word of encouragement to the seminary’s graduates. He reminded all the attendees that he or she as a Christianowes something to other people which is obligation to share the Gospel to the lost. He encouraged the students to be biblical, missional and accountable and to infect his or her local church with the same values.
The Head of the Women’s Ministry in All-Ukrainian Union of Associations of Evangelical Christians – Baptists (Anna Doroshenko) and the Head of Women’s Ministry in Lviv Region (Oksana Ivanusa) congratulated the graduates on this special occasion.
The Academic Dean of UBTS (Oleksandr Savych), the President of the Seminary (Yaroslav Pyzh, Ph.D.) and the Deputy Head of All-Ukrainian Union of Associations of Evangelical Christians – Baptists (Ivan Romanyuk, PhD.) led the graduation ceremony.
When all the diplomas and certificates were received the headman of each group shared his/her UBTS experience and memories and expressed gratitude to the seminary staff for all the input in their lives and ministries.
Ivan Romanyuk, Ph.D. had the final graduation speech. He urged the graduates to keep a close watch on themselves. That means to stay awake, to keep watch concerning what you do, what you say, the way you serve the Lord, what your relationships with people and with the church are. Pretty often the seminaries are perceived and evaluated in terms of their graduates. That’s the exact reason why studentsshould do their best to contribute to the good name of UBTS and the Lord.
On official part of the event everyone went to the seminary to continue celebration i.e. eating delicious meal in a friendly environment, taking part in some Bible quiz and a variety of competitions.
The last graduation component was prayer and words of blessing.
